Annual Conferences

For several years, the Lewis Center has partnered with the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies to produce the Lake Arrowhead Symposium and Downtown Los Angeles Forum, both focused on the connections between transportation, land use, and the environment. Last year’s Arrowhead Symposium tackled local policies around climate change, while the DTLA Forum covered housing costs and scarcity. Moving forward, the Lewis Center remains a proud sponsor of the Arrowhead Symposium and will launch a new signature DTLA event of our own in 2019. Stay tuned for more details!

Housing, Equity, and Community Series

The annual series is a collaboration between the Lewis Center, the Institute for Inequality and Democracy at UCLA Luskin, and the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, and features panel discussions and film screenings over the course of the academic year. Past topics have included the homelessness crisis, statewide protections for renters, discrimination and homeownership rates in South LA, gentrification in Boyle Heights, and more. The series schedule for 2018-2019 will be announced soon. Watch full videos of previous installments on our YouTube channel.
